Conditions for Powerful Prayer.
(1) The Power of Prayer -- Righteous Prayer
(a) It is by faith and belief that God will answer prayer.
Listen to what Jesus says in Matt. 21.v21-22
Jesus answered and said unto them, verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also, if ye shall say unto this mountain, be thou be removed, and be thou cast into the sea, it shall be done. And all things, whatever, ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
(b) A oneness with God
The second point we notice for our prayers to be effective, there needs to be a oneness between Man and God. There is a mighty gulf between the unbeliever and God, In effect he is spiritually dead and cannot communicate with God.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 4 v6
For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead
The bible says that he is alienated from the life of God through sin, his understanding is darkened through ignorance and blindness of heart
They have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge.
They go about establishing their own righteousness and have not submitted themselves into the righteousness of God.
Self righteousness, is the futile effort of man to work out a character or mode of living which God can approve.
Man outside of God bound in chains, the chains of sin,
and is under the control of the devil.
